Lasbela Industrial Estates Development Authority (LIEDA) was established by the Government of Balochistan vide an Ordinance No. IX of 1984. LIEDA has been tasked to develop Industrial Estates and to promote industrialization in District Lasbela Future Plans: 1. Establishment of LIEDA Grid Station at HITE 2. Laying of 4MW under ground electric feeder for Marble City, Gaddani 3. Establishment of Marble City Gaddani SEZ on remaining 362 acres 4. Establishment of Fast Track Hybrid Captive Power Plant of 50MW on BOOT Basis to cater for future demand of electricity. 5. Establishment of Ship Steel & Allied Industrial Park at Ship Breaking Yard, Gaddani. 6. Establishment of Coastal Industrial & Trading Estate at Zero Point Uthal for warehousing and industrial purpose on PPP mode. 7. Development of corporate farming. (Agriculture + Cattle & Dairy Farming) on LIEDA land measuring 2176 acres of Uthal Industrial Estate Phase-I. 8. The feasibility of Caster Oil Project is also under process at LIEDA. 9. Continued efforts in revival of closed units

To promote industrial development, the Government of Balochistan has initiated several measures and provided various incentives. Setting up of industrial estates is one of such measure.   The Provincial Government is responsible for planning, developing and maintaining the industrial estates. The Federal Government off and on provides the required financial assistance for setting up of industrial estates.
